Summer Book Recommendations

These are my summer book recommendations. Check them out!

Summer breezes and lazy days. Isn’t that what summer is meant to be? Sitting on a porch with a glass of lemonade and a good book sounds about perfect to me.

With that in mind, here are a few of my summer book recommendations. I’ve read these books in the last six months and four of the five are favourite authors while the other writer was new to me. These were all five stars in my book.

Just Between You and Me by Jenny B. Jones – I will read anything by this author. I particularly like her older books but they are all fantastic. This one was published in 2009. The tagline is ‘A novel of losing fear and finding God.’ And that sums up the themes. Some good tropes in enemies to lovers and family drama.

Uneasy Street by Becky Wade – Again, there’s nothing she’s written that I haven’t liked. Good dialogue, great characters and character development. Tropes are enemies to lovers, second chances.

Reclaimed by Jennifer Rodewald – this author was new to me but she didn’t disappoint. Some poignant themes around belonging. Tropes are enemies to lovers (I”m sensing a pattern :)) small town.

Dining with Joy by Rachel Hauck – this is one of her older books but it was so good. The premise – a host of a cooking show who can’t cook? – it was fabulous. Again some family drama and great character development. Tropes were small town, and some mean girls.

The Perfect Rom-Com by Melissa Ferguson – another favourite author. Witty. Great characters and if you’re a writer, you can really relate to the pitch session! Tropes are friends to lovers, small town.

These have been some of my favourite reads for 2025 so far. I hope you are able to pick up at least one to read this summer!

Here’s to lots of time to refresh, relax and read this summer!
